How to Use the PP Woven Bag Denier Estimator Tool

This tool calculates the denier of a polypropylene woven bag based on its physical measurements. Follow these steps:

  1. Select Your Measurement Unit
    • Begin by choosing your preferred unit of measurement. Click the dropdown menu and select either “Inches” or “Centimeters”.
  2. Enter the Bag’s Dimensions
    • In the “Bag Length” field, enter the vertical height of the bag.
    • In the “Bag Width” field, enter the side-to-side width of the flat, unsealed bag.
  3. Enter the Bag’s Weight
    • In the “Bag Weight” field, enter the mass of a single, empty bag. Ensure this value is in grams (g).
  4. Provide the Fabric’s Thread Count (Optional)
    • The “Ends per inch (EPI)” and “Picks per inch (PPI)” fields are pre-filled with a standard value of 10, which is common for many bags.
    • If you know the specific thread density of your fabric, you may enter those values. If you are unsure, leaving them at 10 will still provide a good estimate.
  5. Calculate the Result
    • Once all fields are filled, click the blue “Calculate Denier” button.
  6. Review Your Results
    • The results will appear in the blue box below the button. It will display:
      • The calculated surface area of the bag in square meters.
      • The fabric’s Grams per Square Meter (GSM).
      • The final estimated Denier (D) value.
